Greetings from Mayfield Clyde North! At our centre, we believe that children are incredibly capable, competent, and resilient individuals. We champion their right to feel empowered, to have their voices heard, and to actively participate in decisions that impact their lives.
Our pride and joy lie in creating a dynamic and holistic environment where children are encouraged to be the architects of their own learning journeys. We embrace various approaches, including peer scaffolding, teacher-initiated learning, and the importance of interdependence.
In our nurturing setting, children not only learn but also grow, fostering their independence and self-confidence. At Mayfield Clyde North, we're dedicated to empowering your child to reach their full potential while providing a safe, inclusive, and loving space where they can thrive.
Welcome to our Mayfield Clyde North family, where we're committed to celebrating each child's unique strengths and supporting them on their incredible journey of self-discovery and growth.
All inclusions are subject to availability and are provided at the discretion of the centre director.

Our Safari room educators aim to provide a loving and caring environment where all children and families feel safe and supported. While ensuring all children's needs are met, they also provide a stimulating program where babies learn and grow through play.
Our Aspen children begin to build independence skills and creativity through imaginative play, engagement with friends and more established routines. Educators provide an environment that nurtures children's individual needs and wellbeing, while also running a program that is stimulating and supportive of their developmental milestones.
As children enter into a new stage of development, the Windmill Room educators cater for children's social, emotional and physical wellbeing by providing a program that is based on children's current interests and abilities. We believe children are capable of reaching all developmental goals with the right support and encouragement.
Our Glacier Room recognises the importance of preparing children for the next stage in their learning journey by providing meaningful and enriching learning environments. Our staff hold high expectations for the children's learning, believing that all children are competent and capable individuals who can overcome challenges and reach new heights to prepare them for 3 year old Kinder.
With the assistance of our Bachelor Qualified Early Childhood Teacher, our Meadow Room provides a funded 3 year old Kindergarten Program. Our emergent curriculum supports children in developing social and emotional skills to engage with and collaborate with others. It encourages language development and communication skills, and invites children to express creativity, confidence and curiosity.
Our Kindergarten Program empowers children to make decisions about their learning and matters that affect them. We believe that for children to learn best, they need to gain confidence and independence through discovery, experimentation and connection with others and the world around them. Our curriculum focuses on the importance of preparing children for their schooling years in an environment that aims to strengthen children's identity and sense of wellbeing.
We provide most of the essentials that may be needed throughout the day. We ask that you pack and label; spare clothes, water bottle, comfort items/dummies. And if your child requires a sleeping bag, milk bottles, formula, or breast milk.
We offer orientation sessions for families to come along before the first day to have a short play with us. These sessions are usually close to the first day and act as a good lead in. It gives you, your child, and the educators time to get to know each other and the opportunity to ask any questions or provide important information. These sessions are usually organized once enrolment is confirmed, they last for 2 hours and are free of charge. Talking about it at home is also a great way to get your child excited for all the amazing experiences they will get to be a part of.
Be positive! Make the drop off a happy experience and take a few minutes to help your child to settle in. The mornings can be busy, but taking some time to find an activity your child enjoys and saying goodbye can help for a smoother start to their day. There will always be a warm and caring educator on hand to help. You are always welcome to give the centre a call after you have left for an update.
The educator to child ratio varies depending on state and territory, we meet or exceed this ratio. 0 to 24 months the ratio is 1:4 in all states and territories. 24 to 36 months the ratio is 1:5 in QLD and SA, and 1:4 in VIC. Over 36 months the ratio is 1:11 in QLD, SA and VIC. You can find out more on the ACECQA website.
It is important to take the time to find a centre where you feel confident and comfortable and know your child will be safe, happy, and protected. Find a centre that provides a learning environment where careful guidance and role modelling by educators can help children become competent, independent and develop valuable life skills. It is also important to consider aspects that will impact your family such as location, cost, and inclusions.
All Mayfield Early Education centres aim to meet or exceed the National Quality Standards and Regulatory requirements of an early childhood service. As a first time mum I was very nervous about sending my son to childcare but at mayfield they are so inviting and reassuring from the moment you step in the door! I could not be more comfortable and confident in leaving my boy there. My son has been attending Mayfield for a few years now and will be entering into the 4 year old kinder next year and we are so excited to watch his journey. The centre have been fantastic with his development needs and helping us with working through his emotions and behaviours in a positive and supportive way. The director and assistant director are always so friendly and helpful with anything we need and always respond to emails or phone calls in a timely and friendly manner. No matter what staff member I deal with they are always warm and welcoming and willing to help with any questions I have. I cannot recommend Mayfield enough they are outstanding 🙂🙂🙂🙂
