    Babies

Our Babies room is a homely, safe and secure environment for children with highly qualified and dedicated educators who care deeply about children’s wellbeing and growth. The Educators in the Babies room provide activities that are designed to grow physical and cognitive development, including tummy time, sensory play, music, singing, rhymes and reading. We have an open-door policy for families that allows them to drop in for a visit, a feed or a play at any time of the day.

    Toddlers

Our Toddler Room sets up activities including music, movement, memory and construction games that are designed to support sensory-motor and cognitive development. The Toddler Room also encourages enhanced social skills and self-confidence through group play. The Toddler room has ongoing development of language skills through reading and open-ended questions as well as real-life and play-based experiences that allow children to engage in basic literacy and numeracy concepts.

    Pre-Kinder

    Meet Sarah!

Hello, my name is Sarah, and I joined the team at Mayfield Melton in the beginning of 2022 with previous leadership experience, a wealth of knowledge in Early Childhood and over 10 years experience. I have a passion for Education in the Early Years and enjoy working in partnership with families to ensure that their children are supported to thrive and have the best possible start to their Education. My team and I understand the responsibility that comes with the role of an Educator, and we are committed to ensuring that every child not only enjoys their time with us but has been exposed to every available developmental and learning opportunity. With a commitment to quality improvement, I value working alongside our children, educators, and families to support best practice and provide quality Education and Care for the community.

    Frequently Asked Questions

We provide most of the essentials that may be needed throughout the day. We ask that you pack and label; spare clothes, water bottle, comfort items/dummies. And if your child requires a sleeping bag, milk bottles, formula, or breast milk.

We offer orientation sessions for families to come along before the first day to have a short play with us. These sessions are usually close to the first day and act as a good lead in. It gives you, your child, and the educators time to get to know each other and the opportunity to ask any questions or provide important information. These sessions are usually organized once enrolment is confirmed, they last for 2 hours and are free of charge. Talking about it at home is also a great way to get your child excited for all the amazing experiences they will get to be a part of.

Be positive! Make the drop off a happy experience and take a few minutes to help your child to settle in. The mornings can be busy, but taking some time to find an activity your child enjoys and saying goodbye can help for a smoother start to their day. There will always be a warm and caring educator on hand to help. You are always welcome to give the centre a call after you have left for an update.

The educator to child ratio varies depending on state and territory, we meet or exceed this ratio. 0 to 24 months the ratio is 1:4 in all states and territories. 24 to 36 months the ratio is 1:5 in QLD and SA, and 1:4 in VIC. Over 36 months the ratio is 1:11 in QLD, SA and VIC. You can find out more on the ACECQA website.

It is important to take the time to find a centre where you feel confident and comfortable and know your child will be safe, happy, and protected. Find a centre that provides a learning environment where careful guidance and role modelling by educators can help children become competent, independent and develop valuable life skills. It is also important to consider aspects that will impact your family such as location, cost, and inclusions.

    Reviews

We highly recommend Melton! Our daughter has attended several different childcare facilities due to our family relocating countries and states over the last 5 years. This facility, by far, has been the best of all. The educators in the Kinder room are awesome, knowledgeable, and highly qualified. Los and Raj have been such a great support for our daughters' learning and developmental needs over her 9 months here. She is now ready for prep next year and we will miss being apart of the Melton Early Learning Kinder family. Also special mention to the management team - Jodee and Sarah, who have been great, awesome and so friendly and understanding. My daughter has loved every minute here, and so have we.

My son has been at this centre for the last 2 Years. He has level 3 Autism and was almost completely non verbal when he began. The educators worked incredibly hard to help my son and he has come so far. He is now verbal and ready to start mainstream school next year. They even managed to get him to eat new foods.

I have been with the service for two years now, having started with one child there and have two there now. The carers and educators have been very hands on with my kids, empathetic and very nurturing. The ladies in the office are lovely and communication back and forth is clear and timely. I highly recommend this centre if you're looking for a safe place for your little ones.
