    0 - 10 months

This is our youngest group where our focus is building secure connection with your child to ensure that their start in Early Childhood is built with a solid foundation. We focus on your child's individual routine and working with your family to ensure a smooth transition into care for the first time.

    10 - 17 months

Our Meadows group is our younger Toddlers where we begin to focus on supporting your child's development with a focus on sensory play and beginning to understand the world and environment around them further.

    18 months - 2 years

The older of our Toddlers and at this stage we move into our larger yard where we enjoy mixed age group play between 4 rooms. This group is becoming more secure in their surroundings learning to navigate the challenges in the larger spaces and learn more communication skills as they progress throughout the year.

    2- 3 years

Educators will focus on developing supportive, trusting relationships with the children in their care ensuring they provide rich environments that encourage children to explore and discover the world around them, ticking off those all imprtant devlopmental milestones as they go for the year before 3 year old Kinder.

    3 - 4 years

The start of our Kindergarten years with the Windmill room being our 3 year old Kindergarten group. Here we start our journey into Kindergarten and look into supporting children's learning through play with a focus on group work and engaging in social experiences, working together and problem solving.

    4 years

The year before school where we focus on children learning through play but embedding those school readiness aspects into our program. In this space our largest focus throughout the year is supporting children's social and emotional wellbeing. Supporting children to understand themselves and the world around them before they take the next leap into their Primary School Years.

    Always time for play.

    Meet Maddie

Hi families! My name is Maddie – the Centre Director at Mayfield Mooroolbark I have 16 years experience working with children in an early childhood setting, plus a background in nutrition. I am passionate about watching children develop and learn new skills each day and strive to ensure we are providing the best possible care for every child in the service.

    Frequently Asked Questions

We provide most of the essentials that may be needed throughout the day. We ask that you pack and label; spare clothes, water bottle, comfort items/dummies. And if your child requires a sleeping bag, milk bottles, formula, or breast milk.

We offer orientation sessions for families to come along before the first day to have a short play with us. These sessions are usually close to the first day and act as a good lead in. It gives you, your child, and the educators time to get to know each other and the opportunity to ask any questions or provide important information. These sessions are usually organized once enrolment is confirmed, they last for 2 hours and are free of charge. Talking about it at home is also a great way to get your child excited for all the amazing experiences they will get to be a part of.

Be positive! Make the drop off a happy experience and take a few minutes to help your child to settle in. The mornings can be busy, but taking some time to find an activity your child enjoys and saying goodbye can help for a smoother start to their day. There will always be a warm and caring educator on hand to help. You are always welcome to give the centre a call after you have left for an update.

The educator to child ratio varies depending on state and territory, we meet or exceed this ratio. 0 to 24 months the ratio is 1:4 in all states and territories. 24 to 36 months the ratio is 1:5 in QLD and SA, and 1:4 in VIC. Over 36 months the ratio is 1:11 in QLD, SA and VIC. You can find out more on the ACECQA website.

It is important to take the time to find a centre where you feel confident and comfortable and know your child will be safe, happy, and protected. Find a centre that provides a learning environment where careful guidance and role modelling by educators can help children become competent, independent and develop valuable life skills. It is also important to consider aspects that will impact your family such as location, cost, and inclusions.

All Mayfield Early Education centres aim to meet or exceed the National Quality Standards and Regulatory requirements of an early childhood service. We regularly update our policies and procedures to ensure that children, family, and educators are aware of their requirements and responsibilities to help keep children in our care happy, safe and protected. As a parent or guardian of a Mayfield Early Education centre, you can find out more by visiting www. This page requires a password which you can obtain from your Centre Manager upon your enrolment.

Great childcare centre. The educators are great at what they do and it shows - my son is always learning new things and has become very attached to hus educators. They are kind and provide individualised attention to each child. The centre itself is clean and modern and has lots of activities and toys to ensure the children are entertained and continuously learning new things. The educators obviously put a lot of effort into changing the room set up regularly, to keep it new and exciting for the kids. Would recommend to others based on my experience.

Amazing facility, the educators are lovely and professionals. My daughter quickly adapted to environment and enjoying a lot . Highly recommended .

I cannot say enough good things about this childcare!! The staff are super friendly and they all take amazing care of our kiddies, and put the health and wellness of the children at the forefront. I love that they have a huge emphasis on healthy eating, including a garden that the kids help with. I love how this sets up our kiddies for lifelong of healthy habits.
