    Meet Amanda

I have been in the early childhood education and care industry for over 10 years and learnt so much along the way. I love working with children and building strong relationships with their families and like-minded educators who have a passion for educating young minds and watching children grow, explore and learn. I strive to provide a home away from home environment for children and connect with each child to ensure they feel safe, secure and supported.

    Frequently Asked Questions

At our centre, we've got the basics covered, but a few personal touches from home can make all the difference. Consider bringing a change of clothes (our adventures can get messy), a water bottle, comfort items like a toy or dummy, and if required, a sleeping bag and milk essentials.

Easing into a new environment can be a big step for little ones, which is why we’ve designed a special introduction to our centre. Once you've confirmed enrolment, we'll invite you for a complimentary two-hour visit. During this visit, your child can explore our vibrant learning spaces, and you can see our great facilities and connect with our caring educators, ask any lingering questions, and share important details about your child.

Be positive! Turn the drop-off into a joyful experience by dedicating a few moments to help your child settle in comfortably. Mornings can often feel hectic and rushed, but taking the time to engage in an activity that your child enjoys can make a significant difference. This small gesture, along with a warm goodbye, can pave the way for a smoother start to their day. Remember, there will always be a warm and caring educator available to assist your child during this transition. You are also welcome to give the centre a call after you have left; our wonderful management team can provide updates on how your child is doing, which can help ease any worries you have.

The educator-to-child ratio varies based on age, and we meet or exceed this ratio. - From 0 to 24 months, the ratio is 1:4 in all states and territories. - From 24 to 36 months, the ratio is 1:5 in QLD - Over 36 months, the ratio is 1:11 in QLD, SA, and VIC. We recommend visiting the Australian Children's Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) website for more detailed information on national quality standards.

It is crucial to dedicate time to search for a nice, friendly centre where you feel confident and comfortable, ensuring that your child will be safe, happy, and well-protected. Look for a centre that fosters a nurturing learning environment, where the careful guidance and positive role modelling provided by educators can significantly aid children in becoming competent and independent individuals. This supportive atmosphere will also help them develop essential life skills that will benefit them in the long run. It is vital to take into account various factors that will affect your family, like the centre's location, the overall cost of services, and the inclusions offered, as these elements can greatly influence your decision.

Mayfield strives to meet or surpass the National Quality Standards and regulatory requirements for early childhood services. We continually update our policies and procedures to ensure children, families, and staff understand their roles and responsibilities in keeping kids happy, safe, and secure. Parents or guardians of children can learn more by visiting www.mayfield.com.au/policies. This webpage is password-protected; you can get the password from your centre manager when you enrol your child.

Eligibility for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) in Queensland involves several key factors, including your household income, your child’s age, the approved childcare service, and your family’s involvement in work, study, or volunteering activities. Australian citizens and permanent residents can apply for the CSS.

The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is designed to lighten the load for busy families and can cover up to 100 hours of childcare per fortnight. The number of subsidised hours you're eligible for is directly tied to your family's level of recognised activities, including work, study, volunteering, and other approved engagements. The more time you dedicate to these activities, the more subsidised childcare hours you can access. We use various methods, including regular progress reports, parent-teacher meetings, and digital communication platforms, to inform parents about their child's development and daily activities.

    Reviews

We find the staff to be nurturing and fun. It's a great environment for learning and playing. Our kids love this centre.

    Mark & Jess

Highly recommend if you’re searching for ‘the’ daycare. The one where you walk in and it just feels right. They explore what the children are interested in and use that to extend their learning. Class sizes are small and the play areas are great for exploring. My son attended from Toddler room through to Kindy and his educators were nothing short of exceptional. 10/10!

    Morgan

Absolutely love this centre. My daughter has been there since she was 10 months old. Cannot fault one thing about it.
