    Meet Courtney

Hi, my name is Courtney. I have been working with children and families for over 15 years. Looking after and caring for children is my passion, and I love coming in every day to see their smiling faces and chat with families. I love creating a welcoming, loving, respectful, and inclusive environment for everyone to feel like they are part of our great centre.

    Frequently Asked Questions

We provide most of the essentials your child will need during the day. Please remember to pack and label a change of clothes, a water bottle, any comfort items or dummies, and, if necessary, a sleeping bag, milk bottles, formula, or breast milk.

We offer orientation sessions for a short playtime ahead of your child’s first day. Planned close to their start date, these sessions provide a wonderful opportunity for you, your child, and our educators to connect, address any questions, and review key details. After confirming enrollment, you’ll receive an invitation to these free, two-hour sessions. Chatting about the upcoming experience at home can also help build excitement and encourage your child to look forward to the fun activities awaiting them.

Keep a positive attitude! Make drop-off a pleasant experience by taking a few minutes to help your child feel settled. While mornings are busy, finding an activity they enjoy and giving a warm goodbye can help set the tone for a smoother day. A friendly, caring educator will always be on hand to offer support, and you’re welcome to call the centre anytime after leaving to check in for an update.

The educator-to-child ratio varies. For children 0 to 24 months, the ratio is 1:4 in all states and territories, 1:4 in VIC for children 24 to 36 months, and 1:11 for children 36 months and over. You can find out more about it on the ACECQA website.

Selecting the right centre is key to feeling assured and at ease, knowing your child is safe, happy, and nurtured during the day. Look for a centre that offers a positive learning environment where dedicated educators provide guidance and model behaviours that encourage independence, confidence, and essential life skills. It’s also wise to consider practical factors that suit your family’s needs, like location, fees, included services, and accessible early learning.

Mayfield Early Education in Wulguru is committed to meeting and exceeding the national quality standards and regulatory guidelines for early childhood care. We regularly assess and refine our policies and procedures to ensure that children, families, and educators have a clear understanding of their roles and create a safe and nurturing environment for all children. Additional information can be accessed at www.mayfield.com.au/policies for parents and guardians at Mayfield Early Education. This section is password-protected, and your centre director will provide login credentials after enrolment.

Eligibility for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) in Queensland is determined by several factors, including household income, the child's age, the type of childcare service selected, and the parents' level of engagement in activities such as work, study, or volunteering. Australian citizens and permanent residents are eligible to apply, though specific requirements may vary depending on individual circumstances.

The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) provides up to 100 hours of childcare, long day care, and after school care per fortnight, depending on the total hours of recognised activities, such as work or study, completed by parents or guardians. The more hours spent on these activities, the greater the number of subsidised childcare hours available.

My kids were in kids in the village when all of a sudden we were left with a week to find a new centre due to it being sold. I went to the place that brought the centre with no room for both my kids. So I went to genius ,from the start they were welcoming and absolutely brilliant. I was so glad that some of the staff and other kids came across to genius it made it a smooth transition for all the kids. My kids love all the teachers at genius . I am so thankful that I am able to leave my kids in such good hands . Courtney and Kelli you are a great management team and your staff are fantastic

The center is always clean the staff are always friendly. I have 2 children at this center and cannot fault the center or the team. All of the educators know all of the children and their families making you feel important and not like a number. No request is to much for the staff and the director is always out in the rooms helping staff with the children. We love being part of the Mayfield family and could not ask for any better care for our kids!

Can not fault the staff of the facility. My first child is so extremely important to me. I feel at easy knowing he is being cared for by the girls there who treat him not as a joh but as a best friend. Highly recommended on all accounts
